Evasi0n 1.3 released to jailbreak iOS 6.1.1
A few minutes ago, we informed you that iOS 6.1.1 has been released for the iPhone4S only. This update was released to solve issues certain users were having with 3G connectivity. The Evad3rs have now released Evasi0n 1.3 which has been updated to support the iOS 6.1.1 firmware. This update will also work for those who are running iOS 6.1.1 tethered jailbreaks on devices other than the 4S. If you are on a tethered jailbreak of a beta 6.1.1 firmware, simply install the updated Evasi0n 6.0-6.1 untether package in Cydia to untether the jailbreak.

iOS 6.1.1 released for iPhone4S still contains Evasi0n exploit!
Today, Apple pushed out the iOS 6.1.1 update for the iPhone4S only. This update is supposed to fix issues with 3G for certain users. It has been confirmed that the Evasi0n untether exploit still exists in the 6.1.1 firmware for the 4S, but it is unclear whether the final release of 6.1.1 for other devices will be the same case.

Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 Jailbreak Tutorial (DFU ramdisk method)
This is a tutorial for jailbreaking the iPhone 3Gs, iPhone4 and iPad 1 using the new Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 release traditional ramdisk method. This is for an untethered jailbreak on 5.1.1 only, if you are on 5.1 you will have to update before proceeding.
Step 1: Download and extract the latest Redsn0w 0.9.12b1. Click here for the Windows version or here for the OSX version.

Recently Apple released a new build for the iPhone4 iOS 5.1.1 firmware. Since the new build was released after the 5.1.1 untethered jailbreaking tools, none of them had been released with support for this build initially. Here is a tutorial on how to perform an untethered 5.1.1 jailbreak on most devices supporting the 5.1.1 firmware besides the AppleTV using Absinthe 2.0.4. We recommend doing a fresh restore of 5.1.1 before jailbreaking(although it not required), if you are currently tethered jailbroken on 5.1.1, you can use the Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether.

Rocky Racoon iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak Package from Cydia
Just this morning, the Chronic Dev Team released the Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1. For those of you who are already on a tethered 5.1.1 jailbreak, there is also a solution to untether your jailbreak so that you do not have to restore and jailbreak with Absinthe. If you have previously used Redsn0w to perform a tethered jailbreak on your device, simply search for and install the “Rocky Racoon” package in Cydia.
Rocky Racoon is the underlying untethered exploit that will be installed by popular jailbreak tools such as redsn0w and absinthe… if you are using 5.1.1 …

@pod2g has recently given the ok, to iOS device users waiting for the upcoming Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak, to update their devices to 5.1.1. Currently, there is a tethered jailbreak available for A4 and lower devices and within the next few days, an untethered jailbreak will be released for all devices except for the Apple Tv 3, 1. Untethered 5.1.1 Jailbreak to be released in a few weeks
Well, it turns out the poll on @pod2g‘s blog paid off as he has announced that the new jailbreak he has been working on will be released in the next few weeks instead of waiting for iOS6 to be released to see if the exploits are still available. This is great news for owners of the new iPad that were concerned about being able to jailbreak in the near future.
