Yesterday, Apple released iOS 6.1.2 which patched an Exchange calendar bug which was causing battery drain and increased network activity. The good news is that the Evasi0n untether exploit remains unpatched. In order to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2, the Evad3rs have released Evasi0n 1.4 to jailbreak devices on the new 6.1.2 firmware.
Step 1: Download the Evasi0n jailbreak tool above for your corresponding OS. Prepare your device by restoring a fresh 6.1 firmware if you haven't already and run a backup of your device. If you …
The Evasi0n 1.2 iOS6 jailbreak has now been released! Once again, this jailbreak will work on all iOS6 firmware(6.0-6.1) on all current iDevices. The following tutorial was performed on an iPhone5, but the steps are the same regardless of what device you are using. Follow the steps below for an untethered iOS6 jailbreak.
Step 1: Download the Evasi0n jailbreak tool above for your corresponding OS. Prepare your device by restoring a fresh 6.1 firmware if you haven't already and run a backup of your device. …
Here is a tutorial on how to perform an untethered 5.1.1 jailbreak on most devices supporting the 5.1.1 firmware besides the AppleTV using Absinthe 2.0.4. We recommend doing a fresh restore of 5.1.1 before jailbreaking(although it not required), if you are currently tethered jailbroken on 5.1.1, you can use the Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether.
Step 1: Download and extract Absinthe 2.0 from the above links and open it. If you are running Windows be sure to open absinthe.exe as administrator.
Step 3: Connect your …
iFunBox is a popular storage management tool for iDevices. The program gives you USB access to the devices filesystem and if you're jailbroken you will have root access. iFunBox is a great transfer client for if you need to manually install a Cydia package or you just want to copy theme files or some other larger file to your phone and not have to deal with the slow speeds of WiFi-based SSHing.
For those using yesterday's TinyCFW release to downgrade iPad2 to 4.3.3 and are running into issues with the executable there is a fix you can try below. For me I got the error " jvm could not start-the maximum heap size (-Xms) might be too large or a antivirus is blocking the execution." Since i didn't have a firewall or anti-virus running I knew that wasn't the problem. Below you can find the fix I used:
Start - Control Panel - System - Advanced system settings
Advanced (tab) and click on "Environment Variables"
Under "User variables.." click on "New"
The Chronic-Dev Crash Reporter that we announced yesterday which was released by the Chronic-Dev Team to help iPhone users aid in the discovery of exploits to be used in future jailbreaks. The program is now available for both Mac and Windows and in this new version, it will actually even remove the crash reports from your devices so that they won't get sent to Apple
It works the same as the beta, just hit the button with your device connected and it will begin searching for crash reports. If it detects any it will send them off to Chronic and …
Now that Redsn0w 0.9.9b5 has been released for Mac users I figured I would create a tutorial on how to jailbreak using it. This tutorial will walk you through jailbreaking your iPhone on iOS5. This is a TETHERED jailbreak meaning each time you reboot the device you will have to boot tethered with Redsn0w so don't reboot when you are away from your computer.
Step 1: Restore to iOS5 using iTunes(you can update if you want but a fresh restore is recommended).
Step 2: Download and open Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 above …
UPDATE: As I'm sure you can tell, the Apple servers are having some major issues right now because of the amount of traffic they are receiving. If you can't upgrade or restore and you have tried the fix below, just keep trying, you will ge through eventually.
A few of our readers have been reporting receiving an unknown error(3002) when trying to update to iOS5. This appears to indicate that you are blocking Apple's verification servers in your hosts file much like the 1015 errors we have seen in the past. There is a very simple fix for this.
Along with the iOS5 release which has just been released publicly, Apple has rolled out an update for their latest Mac OS Lion 10.7.2. This update adds support for iCloud on your Mac computers. The update also adds new apps such as Find My Friends, iWork and AirPort Utilitiy as well as some other additions.
The 10.7.2 update is recommended for all OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac. It also includes support for iCloud, a breakthrough set of free cloud services that automatically and
This is a video tutorial that will walk you through getting a working tethered jailbreak running on your Verizon iPhone4 4.2.10. Make sure that you use the Redsn0w version in the link below or it WILL NOT WORK! Also, make sure you pay special attention to when I'm talking about what a tethered jailbreak means.
The iPhone-Dev team has already released their tethered jailbreak for the iOS5 beta firmware. As we announced earlier, iOS5 is still susceptible to the limera1n exploit and therefore it was very easy for the dev-team to update their software to support the new firmware. Unfortunately, it appears that @i0n1cs untetthered exploit has been patched in iOS5 so it could be quite some time before we get an untethered jailbreak.
You will also need an iOS5 beta firmware file in order to use this new jailbreak tool. For non-developers please follow our …
Unfortunately, neither Redsn0w nor Pwnage Tool are currently compatible with the iPhone4 CDMA firmware 4.2.8 However, @ih8sn0w has released a firmware bundle that will allow you to create a custom firmware on a Mac using Pwange Tool 4.2

The Dev Team has now released an update for Pwnage Tool 4.3.2 and Ultrasn0w 1.2.2 The update includes @i0n1c's untether exploit in Pwnage Tool and Ultrasn0w fixes the searching issue after unlock with 4.3.2 that was previously only fixable by installing the ultrasn0w fixer.
PwnageTool 4.3.2 now includes the iOS 4.3.2 untether from @i0n1c. (And look, the PwnageTool and iOS version numbers actually match!).
Note that there’s a corresponding update to ultrasn0w, which has been bumped up to v1.2.2 to get along with iOS 4.3.2 (the ultrasn0w update does not include any new baseband support!). Please reboot your …
