The iPhone5 has already been jailbroken by chpwn!
Well, this morning the new Apple iPhone 5 went on sale and not even 24 hours later, @chpwn has already managed to jailbreak his! Of course A4 and lower devices can already jailbreak on iOS6, but A5 and A5X devices such as the iPhone4S, iPad3 and now iPhone5 are not susceptible to the limera1n exploit which allows for the tethered iOS6 jailbreak. This means that chpwn has found a new exploit, likely in the iOS6 firmware, which has enabled him to jailbreak the iPhone5.

iBooksFix2 fixes iBooks issue on jailbroken 5.0.1 devices
It’s no surprise that Apple has been combating jailbreaking since it’s inception. More recently, they have done so by making iBooks crash on jailbroken devices. The jailbreakers have been working hard to combat this but it seems that with every new iOS release, old iBooks fixes become useless.
For those jailbroken on iOS 5.0.1 there is a real easy fix for iBooks. First add the repo http://repo.insanelyi.com to Cydia and then search for iBooksFix2 and install it. That’s it! Once you’ve installed the fix and rebooted your device iBooks should work just fine.

One of the downfalls of the current iOS5 tethered jailbreak is that iBooks does not work once jailbroken. @ih8sn0w the creator of sn0wbreeze has teased a YouTube video(see below) of iBooks running a jailbroken iOS5 device.
According to ih8sn0w, the issue is because of how redsn0w and sn0wbreeze performed sandbox patches in the kernel. Sandbox is a security measure that is used to ensure applications such as Safari don’t have access to personal information or system files.

iOS 5 Already Jailbroken By iPhone Dev-Team
Yes you read that right, MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has posted some pictures on his twitter account, confirming the jailbreak works fine on iOS 5, but of course it is limited to tethered boot only, which means you will have to connect it to your computer on every reboot.
According to his initial testing, Cydia appears to be working just fine on his jailbroken 4th-gen iPod Touch, he managed to install SSHing utility app called iSSH successfully, which can be seen in one of the screenshots below.

Comex successfully jailbreaks the iPad2
Yesterday we posted the information that the SHAtter exploit nor the Limera1n exploit worked on the new iPad2 that was released only 3 days ago. Today, only 3 days after the iPad2‘s release in the US, @comex has successfully jailbroken it.
@comex: would’ve had it yesterday if I didn’t have to spend 1.5 days looking for a replacement exploit (which came from a most unexpected place…)

How to re-enable iBooks on a jailbroken iDevice using Comex’ Honeypot
News has been spreading lately that Apple has disabled iBooks on jailbroken iDevices. In actuality, this has been a feature that they implemented a long time ago but for some reason people are just noticing it now. Apple has coded into iBooks a script that tries to run unsigned code on your device. GridTab for Safari adds a gallery style display of your open tabs
GridTab has been released on Cydia for all Jailbroken iPhones and iPod touches running iOS 4.x. GridTab configures Safari to use a gallery system much like the iPad when navigating through different tabs. For those of you who like using multiple tabs, this will give you a much quicker and easier transition between them.
