Upcoming Semi-Restore tool to clean up your iOS install while retaining jailbreakability
A new tool has been announced Semi-Restore which should come as a huge relief to many jailbreakers. We’ve all been there, we jailbreak our devices, load them up with all the best jailbreak tweaks and apps only to be stuck with a sluggish iOS. The answer to this problem is to restore and only install the absolute necessities, but what do you do when the current iOS is not jailbreakable and your device cannot be restored without installing an unjailbreakable firmware?
Enter Semi-Restore, a tool which bills itself as a partial restore of your current firmware. This is a quick …
NowNow uses activator gestures to invoke Google Now – Siri alternative
A friend of mine jailbroke his iPhone 4 for the first time yesterday. Being the curious person he is, he started watching YouTube videos about jailbreak tweaks to see what he wanted to install. Not surprisingly, he came across a video detailing a Siri port. He asked me if it would work, and having heard plenty of horror stories about instability and security issues, I advised him to steer clear of any Siri ports. Instead, I started looking for Siri alternatives for him and came across NowNow. NowNow is a very simple jailbreak tweak that lets you assign an …

No evasi0n jailbreak release tonight, confirmed release date tomorrow February 4th
We have been patiently waiting all week for the release of the new iOS6 Evasi0n jailbreak, but it looks like we are going to have to wait one more day. It all started with a vague tweet from MuscleNerd who asked what the evad3rs team was planning for Super Bowl sunday. Rumors continued when someone noticed that all of the devices on the Evasi0n website had “3″ on the calendar app, leading people to believe that today, February 3rd, would be the release date.
Unfortunately, just moments ago, PlanetBeing tweeted that the jailbreak will definitely not be released …
Evasi0n new iOS 6.x jailbreak website now live!
In anticipation for the upcoming iOS 6.x jailbreak, the evad3rs dev team has launched the official website for their new tool, dubbed the Evasi0n jailbreak. The upcoming jailbreak has been confirmed to work on ALL current devices running any iOS 6 firmware(6.0-6.1). The tool will work on Windows, Mac or Linux initially.

evad3rs jailbreak dev team is the new “Dream Team”
Throughout the years, we have seen a number of various dev teams, the members typically stay the same, but every so often they form under a new alias. Yesterday, pod2g took to Twitter to announce the formation of “the evad3rs,” a team consisting of respected iPhone developers @pimskeks, @planetbeing, @MuscleNerd and of course, pod2g himself. With this much talent collaborating, it can’t be long before we see an iOS6 jailbreak!
We’re not sure why they have chosen to make this announcement at this time, but it looks like these are going to be …
Planetbeing says nothing to worry about for iPhone5 users waiting for jailbreak
World renowned iDevice hacker, @planetbeing, has taken to Reddit recently to rekindle hope in the iOS jailbreak community for an iPhone5/iOS6 jailbreak. In his recent post, planetbeing explains that he has an iPhone5 jailbroken on 6.0.2 currently and the jailbreak is still actively being worked on. The reasons he lists for not releasing the jailbreak are the typical reasons: don’t want to reveal exploits to Apple, want to wait for iOS 6.1 to be released, etc.
He goes on to explain that the jailbreak he is running took 4 bugs to get it working and there …
Custom iPhone carrier logo without jailbreak via CarrierEditor
Slowly, I am adding jailbreak functionality to my unjailbroken iPhone 5. With the recent release of FlashArmyKnife for my tethering needs and this new tool called CarrierEditor which allows for custom carrier logos on non-jailbroken devices, my phone is starting to feel as useful as my jailbroken 4S was.
CarrierEditor is a very easy to use program that creates an IPCC file that you can restore to add a custom carrier logo to your device. It will work with any device that is tied to a carrier that uses image logos. It will not work on wi-fi only devices.
Step …
Free iPhone tethering without jailbreak via FlashArmyKnife
Since acquiring my iPhone5, one of the things I have missed more than anything is being able to tether my cellular connection with other devices for free. With no jailbreak, my only option for tethering is to pay Verizon another $30/month for data that I am already paying for. Lucky for me, a new app has just made it’s way through Apple’s iTunes approval process.
This new app, FlashArmyKinfe, contains a hidden tethering function that allows you to tether your cell connection to any other ad-hoc capable device for free(aside from the app cost of course). The application does …
iPhone 5 LifeProof case delayed!
As most of you know, LifeProof cases are your best friend when it comes to making sure your favorite device is not only safe but still like new when you decide to trade it in. Most people have been asking where’s the iPhone 5 LifeProof case? Well LifeProof CEO , Gary Rayner explains what’s taking so long:
You may be asking, “Why is LifeProof not yet on the market when other protective cases are?” The answer is simple: LifeProof is the only everyday case that’s water proof, dirt proof, snow proof and shock proof − which means we won’t …
TapIn.tv allows you to become an instant field reporter [App Store Review]
