Apple Adds Resolution Setting for Apple TV 4.4
It looks like Apple has added another small addition in the recent release of the 4.4 software for the Apple TV 2G, a resolution setting.
This setting allows users to set the resolution of the Apple TV to the following new resolutions:

720p HD – 50Hz
1024 x 768 – 60Hz
1024 x 768 – 50Hz
800 x 600 – 60Hz
800 x 600 – 50Hz
480p – 60Hz

How To Remove Apple TV 2G Packages
This is a quick, simple tutorial on how to remove application from the Apple TV 2G, for example Plex or NitoTV.
Step 1. ssh into your Apple TV 2G. Open Terminal or a PC alternative.
Step 2. Connect to your Apple TV. Type the following (please replace the IP address of YOUR Apple TV, this can be found by going to Settings – General – Network on the Apple TV:

Apple TV 2G Gets Web Browser and Last.fm Apps via aTV Flash
A huge announcement for Apple TV 2G fans (like myself)! FireCore have just announced that they will be releasing a web browser and a Last.fm application for the second generation Apple TV in the form of a neat software suite called aTV Flash (black), the beta release of which is only a few weeks away. The web browser will be known as Couch Surfer, supporting most standard browsing function and plugins.
