Soon you will be able to help developers find future jailbreak exploits!

crashreport

An interesting bit of information has begun to make it’s rounds on twitter tonight. As the whole jailbreak community patiently awaits the release of an iOS5 untethered jailbreak for all devices, an interesting new tool is coming to fruition that will allow everyday average jailbreakers to help developers find exploits for use in future jailbreaks.

With what little information we have now, it appears as though this will be done by installing an application on your computer that will tie into iTunes and collect data from your device. This data will contain crash reports from your phone that will allow …

intellii

Intelliborn, the popular jailbreak developer company who has brought us such Cydia apps as MyWi, My3G and Elert among many others has been developing a great new application that is set to hit the Cydia store right around the release of iOS5. IntelliID is a CallerID application that will fetch a caller’s name immediately upon them calling. The application will pull names both for landlines and mobile phones. Never again will you have to wonder who is calling you from that unknown number.

IntelliID pulls names from a US/Canada calling database. Because of this it seems as though it will …

Let’s face it, we all want to the best possible price for each product we purchase. RedLaser, an application developed by Occipital will do just this, and do it very well.

RedLaser is a free application in the App Store which has the potential to save you a lot of money. Equipped with a blazing fast barcode scanner, RedLaser will scan your desired products’ barcode and return the cheapest prices from the internet as well as from local retailers.

celestebluetoothtransfer

Rating:

Team CocoaNuts, the ones who brought us such 3rd party apps as YourTube, Safari Download Manager and Attachment Saver have now released a new application called Celeste which will allow you to transfer files to or from your phone to any other bluetooth enabled device. If you own YourTube you will be able to sync your videos back to your computer via Bluetooth.

Celeste takes over where iBluenova left off. For those who are new to the scene, iBluenova was an application that had similar functions but it was for iOS 3.x and was never updated to support 4.x. …

App Review: iTimeLapse Pro [App Store] – How to take timelapse videos from iPhone/iPod Touch

It’s so easy, anyone can do it… be an artist! iTimeLapse allows you to capture a series of images rapidly and then compile them into a video. iTimeLapse lets you create as many sessions as you want, adding images to them at any …

VLC Player Application finally pulled from the iTunes App Store

vlc-app-icon-ios

The ever popular VLC Player application from the iTunes App Store, which allows users to playback video that is not natively supported by the iPhone, has finally been pulled from the iTunes App Store. Apple had received a formal letter from the developers of VLC(the computer version) about copyright infringements.

The infringement is actually more of just a snag in the way that iTunes operates. iTunes does not allow the installation of an application(free or paid) by a user on more than 5 devices. This goes against the original GNU license VLC’s code is based on. According to the developers …

App Review: Garmin StreetPilot GPS [App Store]

GarminStreetPiloticon

Rating:

Although technically one of the first GPS manufacturers to market a mapping app for portables with its Garmin Mobile 10 software for PDAs and Palm, Garmin has been notably absent from the smartphone navigation app marketplace as of late (discounting the aging and ridiculously overpriced Garmin Mobile for Blackberry). Today, Garmin jumps back into the fray, challenging apps from TomTom, Magellan, and Navigon with not one, but four of its own GPS-centric apps, including the new StreetPilot navigation app for iPhone and three new GPS apps for Android devices.

The StreetPilot name hearkens back to the original Garmin StreetPilot …

Jay Freeman (Saurik) Announces Cydia App Store for Mac OS

When it comes to jailbreaking, there’s probably no name as familiar to the development community than that of Jay “saurik” Freeman. Jay is the brain behind the Cydia App Store, and this morning he gave the attendees of 360|MacDev an overview of his upcoming jailbreak store for Mac OS X, cycript, and Cydia Substrate.

Currently, Cydia Installer has been used by about 10% of all iPhone users, or about 10 million devices. There are well over 30,000 packages available for iOS, and a lot of open source material can be downloaded from Cydia. He refers to Cydia as a …

App Review: GraviBoard [Cydia Store] – Add gravity to your SpringBoard

GraviboardIcon

GraviBoard is a new Cydia application that allows you to bring the effects of gravity directly to your iDevice. This application doesn’t serve any purpose, it is for entertainment purposes only. For that reason, the price seems a bit steep at $2.99 but it is still a pretty neat trick that you can impress your friends with.

You can configure GraviBoard through settings and you can change the gravity to earth, moon, zero gravity or you can define your own custom gravity. Activator is used to configure how to enable the effect. You can press the home button to disable …
