Greenpois0n Will Provide Hacktivation For iPhone 4!

Greenpois0n, the hugely anticipated jailbreaking tool is set to arrive soon. Greenposi0n uses a low level exploit named SHAtter to pwn all iDevices for life!

In a tweet earlier today, p0sixninja (a member of the Chronic Dev Team) confirmed that Greenpois0n will also provide hacktivation for the iPhone 4. His tweet is as follows:

P0sixninja doesn't clarify whether the jailbreak will also provide hacktivation for previous iDevices (the iPhone 3G, and 3GS for example) but my assumption is that it will. We will clarify this as soon as any more information is released.

Apple TV 2G SHAttered and jailbroken! [updated]

MuscleNerd has just posted both a tweet and picture confirming that the new SHAtter exploit has also jailbroken the Apple TV 2G!

As this has only just be announced we still do not have a lot of information. There are also a few other members within the community working on jailbreaking the Apple TV. Chromic Dev Team member willstraf tweeted earlier today about the structure of the Apple TV OS.

As the Apply TV has only been released a few days ago this is still a very new area. We will keep you updated as soon as any more information …

pod2g leaves The Chronic Dev Team [updated]

In an announcement via twitter today, pod2g, the person that discovered the SHAtter exploit for the upcoming Greenposi0n jailbreak has announced that he will be leave The Chronic Dev Team.

SHAtter rumors shattered by Chronic Dev Team

Yesterday we posted an update about the upcoming jailbreak called SHAtter. It seems as though FSM had posted some misinformation so the Chronic Dev Team has updated the post on their blog clearing the rumors. At this point, it is unknown whether or not the jailbreak will be tethered or untethered. It is also unknown whether or not the exploit will be a bootrom exploit. New iDevice bootrom exploit gets a name – SHAtter

Yesterday, we reported that a new bootrom exploit has been discovered by @pod2g and the Chronic Dev team. Today we got some more info about the upcoming jailbreak from @P0sixninja including the name of the exploit, SHAtter. Here are some more details on the upcoming release:

Today, P0sixninja reveals some new info about the the exploit, which is called SHAtter and it’s a bootrom exploit, meaning that it’s the first *thing* that runs when an iOS device is being booted. That means, that Apple won’t be able to stop the jailbreak, without upgrading the hardware.
