FuriousMod iOS5 Fix by mcbaron15 Unlock iPhone4 with Gevey Ultra on 5.0.1

    It has come to our attention that the repo is not currently working and also the official package that is available does not work on iOS5. For those with an iPhone4 on who have a compatible baseband(anything but 04.11.08) you can do a manual installation of the Furious Mod 5.0.1 from a MacRumors users, mcbaron15, which will allow you to use a Ultra on the latest iPhone firmware.

    The easiest way to the deb would be to use iFile. Simply transfer the deb file to any folder in your iPhone(make the location easy to remember). You can do this via SSH with Cyberduck(mac) or WinSCP(windows) or you can use a USB transfer program such as iFunBox. After you have transferred the file to your phone open up iFile and navigate to the folder. Select the .deb file and choose "Installer" when it asks you what to open it with.

    Once you reboot your phone you will be able to use your Gevey Ultra SIM! If it doesn't work for you at first, try switching airplane mode on for a few seconds and then turning it off(thanks to Krisz for the tip!)

      D´you know what?!? It works!!! Great and thanks alot to macbaron15! Why isn´t this article spread further? It took me a couple of days after jailbreak release to find it and I thought I was good in finding such stuff… ;-)
      The only thing for me to do is to switch to airplane mode for a second or two after rebooting my device and that´s it. No more stupid dialing an emergency number or following the whole silly manual unlock procedure.

      Go ahead and tell everybody…

      I realized the files simply install the fmod gevey and buy the right, and do after starting the flight mode …

      gevey where can I purchase?

      Oh my. I envy you guys. Mine does not work. Did reboot it and switched to airplane mode every now and then but I can’t get signal. Hmmm.

        04.11.08 is not unlockable by software or hardware.

      iphone 4 on 5.0.1 with 4.10.1 and it isnt working. I turn on airplane mode wait then turn it off and i get sim failure pop up twice

        Do you have an official Gevey Ultra SIM purchased from AppleNBerry? The knock-offs that people buy on Amazon and eBay have a very high failure rate.

      Furiousmod 2.0 is out and seems to be working for me, is this manual method more stable than v2.0 straight from the repo?  Because something is causing my iphone to get stuck when rebooting and I was hoping it was furiousmod that was causing the problem and if I did the unlock this way it would correct it.  Thoughts?

      It’s all that u go offline
      Turn on it phone
      U will receive a MSG just decline
      Wait a sec
      Giro phone -application sim –
      Click on instruction and accept
      Now dial 112
      And before the sim not valid appeared
      Just turn the flight mode on then few seconds off
      U will be online
