Creating a Complete Multiroom Audio System Using AirPlay [My Experience]

airview-airplay-receiver

We are currently in the process of renovating the bottom level of our house to create a self-contained flat. After being involved with iPhoneBlogr for almost two years and an all-round Apple fan, I took it upon myself to, in someway, express that passion in the building of our flat. My endeavor: to create a full, multiroom, built in audio system through the house using AirPlay.

Equipment:
$0 – iPhone 4 (already owned) – used for controlling music, volume, and speakers
$60 – AirPort Express (802.11b) – Bedroom
$60 – AirPort Express (802.11b) – Bathroom

MySiri an upcoming jailbreak tweak promises the most Siri customization yet

siri

One of the biggest reasons I was so excited for the release of the 4S jailbreak was the promise of 3rd party tweaks and customizations for Siri. So far, we have already seen some great Siri tweaks such as OpenSiri, Hands-Free Control and VoiceUtils. An upcoming tweak, dubbed MySiri, promises to add even more customization all under one roof. This tweak will work on any device running Siri(including Spire installations on iPhone 3Gs/4

This new tweak, being developed by Andrea Olivia and Akhil Tolani includes some of the great features of the other tweaks, such as controlling …

If you’ve ever held up your iPad and thought, somethings missing.. A new jailbreak tweak named ‘Belfry’ has been released into the Cydia store on the default BigBoss repo, and some more great news – it’s totally free of charge. Belfry installs all of the native iPhone applications that come with the iPhone but not the iPad, these include:

If this doesn’t work you can always use the Absinthe CLI method, however this is a bit more difficult than the GUI version and requires basic command prompt knowledge.

All you need to do is go …

No Service or Searching after installing Absinthe Untethered Jailbreak?

noservice

A few of our users have reported that after using the Absinthe untethered jailbreak for iPhone4S or iPad2 they would receive a “Searching…” message and eventually it would lead to “No Signal.” This does not seem to affect all jailbreakers but we have received many reports so far. The fix for this problem is easy enough, simply go into your settings application, go to general>reset>reset all settings

Once your device reboots you will have to redo the initial device setup but after that your network issues should go away. Please reply with any questions or comments!…
