iBooksFix2 fixes iBooks issue on jailbroken 5.0.1 devices
It’s no surprise that Apple has been combating jailbreaking since it’s inception. More recently, they have done so by making iBooks crash on jailbroken devices. The jailbreakers have been working hard to combat this but it seems that with every new iOS release, old iBooks fixes become useless.
For those jailbroken on iOS 5.0.1 there is a real easy fix for iBooks. First add the repo http://repo.insanelyi.com to Cydia and then search for iBooksFix2 and install it. That’s it! Once you’ve installed the fix and rebooted your device iBooks should work just fine.

Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 released fixes issues with MobileSubstrate
Earlier today, the iPhone-Dev team released Redsn0w 0.9.10b2 which was to fix issues with launchctl from b1. However, it became apparent that running this new version of Redsn0w on top of an already jailbroken device would cause any apps that used MobileSubstrate to stop working. If this has happened to you, you can simply reinstall MobileSubstrate and reboot your device, otherwise Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 will fix the issue for you as well.

Redsn0w 0.9.10b2 released to fix launchctl error
Last night we reported that the Chronic-Dev team has updated their Corona 5.0.1 untether package on Cydia in order to fix an issue with launchctl which was causing issues with 5.0.1 OpenSSH among other things on 5.0.1 untethered devices. Today, Redsn0w has gotten the same treatment since the issue was apparent in the initial release of that tool as well.

Untether your tethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak with Corona 1.0-3 fixes launchctl issue
There are several different ways to perform an untethered jailbreak on A4 iOS 5.0.1 devices. You can use our Untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak tutorial with redsn0w 0.9.10b1, however if you are already on a tethered jailbreak on 5.0.1 with an earlier version of Redsn0w another router you can take to untether your jailbreak is to download the Corona untether Cydia package from the Chronic-Dev team. This will allow you to simply untether your tethered jailbreak without the need of a computer.
All you have to do is go to Cydia and type in “Corona” in the search and download and …

pod2g passes A4 jailbreak off to Chronic Dev Team focuses on A5 jailbreak
Just a bit ago, @pod2g updated his blog once again with more progress on the untethered 4S jailbreak. At this time, the A4 jailbreak is pretty much complete so he has passed it off to the rest of the Chronic-Dev team(presumably so they can continue testing and begin packaging the exploit into a user-friendly GUI tool). In doing so, he has also freed up his time to focus solely on the A5 jailbreak now for iPad2 and iPhone4S.
He still has not provided an exact release date but he does keep saying “soon.” Honestly, at this point, I’d …
Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d fixes old bootrom 3Gs issues
Shortly after the release of Redsn0w 0.9.9b9, MuscleNerd announced that the newest version of their jailbreak tool would cause issues for old-bootrom 3Gs users. To remedy that issue, they have now released Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d. If you don’t have an old-bootrom 3Gs you don’t have to worry about this new release. If you DO have an old-bootrom 3Gs and you used Redsn0w 0.9.9b9 to jailbreak, you will have to download and re-run this new version but you can do it right over the top of your current jailbreak so as not to lose anything.

Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 for iOS 5.0.1 compatibility available now
The other day, we reported that MuscleNerd had announced a new version of Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 which would fix compatibility issues with iOS 5.0.1. Yesterday, we told you that the iPhone-Dev team repo had gone down which is why this new version of Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 was not released on Monday as planned. Today, it seems that the infrastructure update has been completed and now Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 is available in Cydia. Once again, I must stress that this new version of Ultrasn0w DOES NOT add any new baseband compatibility. It only adds 5.0.1 support for basebands which are already unlockable:
