Enable panorama mode for you iOS camera app using Firebreak

panorama

Twitter user @conradev has discovered a modification that allows you to enable Panorama mode for your stock iOS camera application. This tweak will allow you to take a series of pictures and stitch them together to create a panorama effect. Right now, the only way to enable this tweak is to add a boolean string to a plist file within the system files.

Since this isn’t exactly an easy task for novice jailbreakers, we won’t go into much detail because @chpwn has already submitted a Cydia tweak called “Firebreak” FIREBREAK IS AVAILABLE IN CYDIA NOW that will allow …

iOS 5 Bug Found, Untethered Jailbreak Being Worked On [Updated]

ios-5-jailbreak1(1)

Just moments ago iOS hacker pod2g announced that he has found a bug that has the ability to provide an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 users. Currently the latest version of redsn0w provides a tethered jailbreak for all iOS users (except iPad 2 and iPhone 4S devices) but for many people, an untethered jailbreak is a must.

Hey jailbreaking friends, I’ve found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don’t expect a release soon, but I’m gonna work hard in it.

As mentioned in his tweet, it is unclear as to when the untethered jailbreak will be released. It is …

No IntelliScreenX Toggles fix – How to enable

intelliscreenx

In case you missed it, the popular jailbreak development team, Infinidev has brought us a great new notification center modification for iOS5 that is now available for public beta. You can install it for free for a trial period by adding the repo http://www.intelliborn.com/isxbeta to Cydia.

One of the coolest features about IntelliScreenX is the toggles that it adds to the notification shade which allow you to quickly adjust certain settings and respring and reboot, much like SBSettings. So naturally, I was dissapointed when I installed the newest update and didn’t have the toggles. I had assumed that it may …

Siri port to iPhone4 and iPhone3Gs update

siri

For those who are following the Siri port progress, it has been a crazy 72 hours. We have seen everything from fake siri “releases” to people claiming they have a port but refuse to release it. One thing is for sure, progress is being made all the time. Over the past few days iBrandon and myself have been lucky enough to work along side the Iris Dev team while they continue to perfect the Siri port to other devices.

At this point, it appears that they have the port fully working besides being able to access the servers, which is …

Sn0wbreeze 2.8b9 and Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 released to add iOS beta 5.0.1 support

ios5

For developers who have updated to the iOS 5.0.1 firmware that was released yesterday and would like to jailbreak, MuscleNerd and the iPhone-Dev team have released Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 and ih8sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.8b9 to add support for the new beta firmware.

Redsn0w users, the new update does natively detect the new 5.0.1 firmware but because the firmware is not yet public, you will have to specify the firmware the first time you run it, but from there Redsn0w will cache the necessary files and you shouldn’t have to specify the firmware again.

For those who want to update to …

Apple Releases iOS 5.0.1 to Developers [Battery Drain Issues]

ios5-disponible-telechargement-L-rJHuGR

Despite the elongated release of Apple’s latest mobile OS, it appears that the company from Cupertino still cannot get it all right. You would have though that with 9 betas of iTunes 10.5 and a near record 7 Betas of iOS 5 under its belt, Apple would have everything ready to go for the big launch.

Jim Dalrymple of The Loop received the following statement from Apple concerning iOS 5 battery life complaints:

“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices,” an Apple spokesperson told The Loop. “We have found a few …

Dynavix GPS Navigation App Review

dynavix

This is a review for a new US GPS navigation app, the application is called Dynavix. I have used several different GPS applications since I got my first iPhone 3Gs back in 2009 and this is by far one of the easiest, cleanest and most user-friendly nav apps that I have ever used. Dynavix excels where other similar applications fall short. One of my favorite features is the customization you can do to the app. With most other navigation apps you are stuck with the default color scheme and imagery, but with Dynavix you can change the colors, the background, …
