iPhone4 Siri port now communicating with Apple servers (Video)
Those of us who have not upgraded to the iPhone4S continue to wait patiently(well most of us) for a port to other devices. Another step forward has been made in recent hours. The initial port of Siri to the iPhone4 that we reported was the UI only, meaning all of the Siri files were ported successfully but Siri lacked the ability to function because Apple servers check to make sure the request is being sent from a 4S.
Luckily for us, this security message has been bypassed by @stroughtonsmith and the iPhone4 Siri port can now communicate with Apple …
MuscleNerd successfully jailbreaks the iPad2 and iPhone 4S (Video)
iPhone 4S and iPad2 users alike will be happy to know that iPhone-Dev team member, @musclenerd, has successfully jailbroken A5 devices iPhone 4S and the iPad2. This jailbreak is still in it’s very early stages and there is a lot of work left to be done so we are still probably a ways out before actually seeing a public jailbreak.
The Chronic-Dev team is supposedly working on their own iOS5 jailbreak so it will be interesting to see who finishes first. Surely only one of the two jailbreaks will be released at this point so as not to …
IntelliScreenX upcoming iOS5 notification center application review
Learn about every part of Intelliborn’s upcoming IntelliScreenX.
Approximately a week ago, ModMyi reported that Intelliborn, famous for applications such as My3G, Tlert, Intelliscreen, and others, demoed their new upcoming Notification Center application IntelliScreenX. The video they provided gave us an inside look to what IntelliScreenX has to offer; and from what we’ve seen, it’s for sure a full-fledged application. Although the video was informative to a great extent, there’s nothing better than getting a component-by-component low down on an upcoming application with screenshots, explanations, and the whole shebang.
Courtesy of the Intelliborn team, we’re privileged to be one of …
ih8sn0w teases iBooks on Jailbroken iOS5 (Video)
*Update* Now there is a working iOS5 iBooks fix via SSH/iFile
One of the downfalls of the current iOS5 tethered jailbreak is that iBooks does not work once jailbroken. @ih8sn0w the creator of sn0wbreeze has teased a YouTube video(see below) of iBooks running a jailbroken iOS5 device.
According to ih8sn0w, the issue is because of how redsn0w and sn0wbreeze performed sandbox patches in the kernel. Sandbox is a security measure that is used to ensure applications such as Safari don’t have access to personal information or system files.
Unfortunately, he goes on to say that he will not be …

Turn your Tethered iOS5 Jailbreak into a Semi-Tethered iOS5 jailbreak with SemiTether (Tutorial)
It’s no secret, one of the most inconvenient things about a tethered jailbreak is that you are prone to having a useless device when you are away from your computer. Whether you lose power, the phone spontaneously reboots or you accidentally install a Cydia package that requires reboot without knowing, the risk of getting stuck in a boot loop when you’re away from your computer is enough to prevent many people from jailbreaking on iOS5.
Luckily there is a band-aid fix for this problem. It is a new Cydia package called SemiTether which will allow you to reboot your device …
Siri port to other devices progress update
Last week we showed you a video of Siri running on iPhone4, since then not much has come from the people who are working on the port, but Joshua Tucker and Jack have now written up a short FAQ about the progress they have been making on the port. It sounds like things are moving along nicely, although they state that it will still be a few weeks before we actually see the port. Take a look below at their progress report.
1. Who is currently working on this port?
At this current time, the people that are working …
Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 increases jailbreaking speed and adds Move Applications feature
Today the iPhone-Dev team has released a “limited-edition” update to Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 which makes it so that applications are not “stashed” by default. This cuts the total time it takes to jailbreak from 180 seconds to 80(a 60% decrease)! The update now adds the application stashing option in the preferences pane of Redsn0w.

Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 – Win
Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 – OSX
After some feedback on reddit, we’ve decided to make the initial jailbreak as quick as possible by no longer “stashing” the applications by default during the redsn0w run. This reduces the time to actually perform the jailbreak …

iPhone 4S Gets Sent 100,000ft into Space [video]
Many people have bought an iPhone 4S already, but none of us have sent our iPhone to space. Thats exactly what a YouTube user by the name of “FinalCutKing” did. He purchased two iPhone 4s’s on launch day, and put them in a helium balloon.
He then sent them up (approx 100,000ft), and waited patiently for them to fall safely back to Earth. While the iPhones were up there, they took some amazing footage of the Earth’s atmosphere.
