How to fix iTunes error 3194
Today we had 3 different users all experiencing the same error so I figured I would make a quick post addressing the issue. The error is iTunes error 3194 during a restore. The unfortunate thing about Apple's error system is that errors are rarely ever attributed to one single specific issue. Many times the error is just a general error that could mean any number of things.
The most common 3194 error experienced is when a user attempts to restore an older firmware that is no longer being signed and they do not have their SHSH blobs saved for the firmware they are trying to restore to.

However, these users were experiencing error 3194 while restoring 4.3.5(the most current iOS firmware which IS being signed). The simple fix for this issue is to simply restore your phone in DFU mode. I'm not sure why this works but it does. The fix worked for all 3 readers and they restored no problem from DFU mode.
DFU mode steps:
1) Hold home+power for 10 seconds(with your device connected to your computer)
2) After 10 seconds release power but continue holding home
3 ) Continue holding home for another 10 seconds
After doing this process, iTunes will detect a device in recovery mode and the screen on your device will be black. This is how you know you are in DFU mode. Now you can simply hit the "restore" button in iTunes and 4.3.5 should restore without an issue. If you are having problems getting your device into DFU mode check out our video tutorial:
