Apple is currently signing old firmware read ASAP if you are stuck on 4.3.5

Over the past few minutes, the web and twitter have been buzzing with news that has started signing 4.1 firmware and possibly even firmware for some devices. This is amazing news for those who are currently stuck on 4.3.5 and up until now had thought that they would be stuck there until iOS5 came out.

Those of you who are stuck on 4.3.5 open up ASAP and try saving your SHSH keys from Apples server. So far there are varying opinions on what firmware is being signed and for which devices. Initially the report was that it was only 4.1 for the 3Gs, but others have been reporting that even 4.2.1 is being signed for right now.

Unfortunately for iPhone4 users, I have not heard of anyone being able to their 4.1 or 4.2.1 SHSH on an i4 yet, but it's worth a shot!

We have no idea why Apple is doing this, possibly by mistake or maybe they are just trying to see if we are paying attention 😛 Either way, nobody knows how long this will last and it is VERY easy for them to stop signing firmware so do this AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

If you try this and it does work for you, please let us know below, be sure to include what device you are using and what firmware you were able to save the SHSH for. Thanks!

Apple seems to have never stopped signing I’ve been using tiny umbrella for months always been able to save 4.1 shsh. I have never brought it to anyone’s attention as I’m afraid publicising it will make them stop signing.

No, they definitely stopped signing 4.1 for a long time. The only reason you’ve always been able to save 4.1 is because once you save it once it’s saved forever on Saurik’s server. They just recently started signing it again, but who knows how long the window will be open.

I have iphone 4 GSM firmware 4.1 on baseband 02.10.04. Can I downgrade or upgrade to any unlockable baseband?

I have my SHSH saved from Cydia for firmwares: 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.2b3, 4.3.3, and 4.3.5

Or is my only option to use gevey sim? If you recommend the gevey sim, which is the best baseband to use/update to?

    thanks a bunch!

    • JaeM1llz says:

No, there is no way to downgrade baseband on the iPhone4. If you are on the 02.10.04 baseband your only option for unlocking is to buy the Gevey Ultra SIM. Doesn’t matter what baseband you are on, but since you have your 4.3.3 SHSH saved I would suggest upgrading to that firmware since there are a lot of changes and bugfixes since 4.1. Check out our downgrade to 4.3.3 tutorial for instructions.

Hi i hav a iphone 4 locked n im using it on 4.1 bt it seems i cant upgrade it to 4.31 cuz i read apple has stopped signing the firmwares o something…n the only upgrade option left is 4.3.5 which has no untethered jailbreak…so CAN I UPGRADE MY 4.1 to 4.3.5 n DOWNGRADE IT TO 4.3.1 o 4.3.3—dng all of tis while preserving my baseband

    • JaeM1llz says:

Hi Harshil, unfortunately there is no way to upgrade to 4.3.5 while preserving your baseband and you also cannot restore 4.3.3 without having your 4.3.3 SHSH, so I would suggest that you stay on 4.1.
