Cydia 1.1.2 Released No Major Additions (UPDATE: Not an official release)
Update: Saurik has commented on other blogs regarding 1.1.2 and has advised to stay away from the “purposely unreleased” update of Cydia 1.1.2. It has not been thoroughly tested and he advised that jailbreakers should stay away from it.
This /purposely-unreleased/ version of Cydia has only one major change in it (and four tiny things, only one of which is user-visible: the keyboard thing under Search): a modification to “stashing” (the step where your filesystem is rearranged during the initial …
JailbreakMe 3.0 iPad2 Jailbreak Draws Nearer
Today, @comex updated his website with a long list of git commits that date back almost a full year, indicating another milestone in his ipad2 jailbreak progress. Previously, he had updated his website with a picture of a ski run labeled “PDF” which referred back to his JailbreakMe 2.0 exploit back in the early 4.0 days which would allow you to jailbreak directly from your device. comex has been working on this iPad2 jailbreak for quite a long time, …
Apple making it more difficult to downgrade firmware in iOS5
The cat and mouse game between Apple and the hackers continues. The dev-team has announced today, in a blog post aptly named Blob Monster, that Apple is stepping their game up in their anti-jailbreak measures. Apparently, beginning with the new iOS5 beta firmware, Apple has begun building dependency on the authenticity of the APTicket during the boot process which could make it more difficult to downgrade firmware in the future. The APTicket, unlike the BBTicket is a uniquely …

Apple Blocks Gevey SIM Unlock in iOS5 Beta 2
Earlier this week, we told you about a new version of the Gevey SIM interposer unlock called the Gevey Ultra SIM. Last night, Apple released iOS5 beta 2 to iOS developers and it has become apparent that they have blocked the hardware unlock in the new revision of the iOS5 firmware. It is a little strange that Apple decided to block the unlock in a beta version of the firmware instead of waiting until the final release. It is …
GEVEY Ultra SIM Allows iPhone4 unlock on any baseband legally without dialing 112
It has been 3 months since we first announced the GEVEY SIM unlock method for iPhone4s running basebands which are not currently unlockable with via software. This method was very expensive when it first surfaced and also was in a gray area in terms of legality since it required the user to dial the 112 emergency number to initiate the unlock. However, a new GEVEY Ultra SIM has been developed which allows you to permanently unlock your iPhone4 on ANY …
ChevronWP7 Labs to allow Microsoft approved Windows Phone 7 Jailbreaking!
Typically we like to stay away from posting news regarding other devices or companies since we have a very specific audience we cater to, but this news is just too good to not report on. Anyone who has followed Windows Phone jailbreaking in the past knows that very shortly after the Windows Phone was released, a jailbreaking tool was released called ChevronWP7. Shortly after it’s release however, the people at ChevronWP7 Labs announced that they would discontinue the program at …

Tethered iOS5 Jailbreak Using Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 Tutorial
The iPhone-Dev team has already released their tethered jailbreak for the iOS5 beta firmware. As we announced earlier, iOS5 is still susceptible to the limera1n exploit and therefore it was very easy for the dev-team to update their software to support the new firmware. Unfortunately, it appears that @i0n1cs untetthered exploit has been patched in iOS5 so it could be quite some time before we get an untethered jailbreak.

iOS 5 Already Jailbroken By iPhone Dev-Team
Yes you read that right, MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has posted some pictures on his twitter account, confirming the jailbreak works fine on iOS 5, but of course it is limited to tethered boot only, which means you will have to connect it to your computer on every reboot.
According to his initial testing, Cydia appears to be working just fine on his jailbroken 4th-gen iPod Touch, he managed to install SSHing utility app called iSSH successfully, which …
