Sn0wbreeze 2.5.1 Untethered 4.3.1 Jailbreak [Tutorial] For all iDevices except iPad2
Yesterday was one of the biggest news days in recent iDevice jailbreaking history. Untethered 4.3.1 jailbreaks were released for all iDevices except for the iPad2. If you are a Windows user you can either follow the sn0wbreeze tutorial below, or if you don't rely on unlock you can use our Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 jailbreak tutorial. If you are a Mac user you can follow our Pwnage Tool 4.3 tutorial.
Again at this time we must stress that if you require unlock you should refrain from updating to 4.3.1 until Ultrasn0w is updated to address the issues 4.3.1 has caused with older basebands.
Step 1: Download and open sn0wbreeze 2.5
Step 2: Click the blue arrow and you will be taken to a screen where you need to select the firmware you downloaded prior to beginning this tutorial. You can either drag and drop the file onto the sn0wbreeze screen or you can click the "browse" button to select it.
Step 3: Click the next arrow again and sn0wbreeze will verify your firmware file
Step 4: Now that sn0wbreeze has verified your 4.3.1 firmware file click next again where you will see a screen that asks you if you want expert mode or simple mode. Choose expert mode. This page will let you customize the firmware however you would like. For the sake of simplicity, we will just skip any customizations and just click "Build IPSW"
Step 5: Sn0wbreeze will now build the custom firmware for you so just sit back and relax as it will take some time to complete.
Step 6: At this point, sn0wbreeze will now walk you through the process of putting your device into DFU mode. Hopefully you have done this before, if not just follow the on-screen instructions, if you have any difficulty, take a look at our DFU mode video tutorial.
Step 7: After putting your device into DFU mode, sn0wbreeze will automatically run iREB and put your device into what's known as Pwned DFU Mode which allows you to restore a custom firmware to your device.
Step 8: Now that sn0wbreeze is done creating a custom firmware and putting your device into Pwned DFU mode, all that's left to do is restore the pre-jailbroken firmware. Simply open iTunes and hold down "shift" and click restore. Navigate to the CUSTOM firmware that was created(be sure you select the custom firmware).
Step 9: You're all set! After iTunes restores your iDevice with the custom firmware, you will be untethered and jailbroken on 4.3.1 congratulations!
