Apple blocks Amazon to prevent Sauriks SHSH servers from accessing gs.apple.com
*UPDATE* @saurik has posted an update to his Twitter account that the SHSH saving issue was actually a coding SNAFU and not Apple blocking access to his servers.
Apple continues to crack down hard on the jailbreaking community. Today @chpwn has informed us that Apple has blocked access to all of Amazon’s servers. @saurik has Cydia access the Apple servers to save our SHSH keys. Sn0wbreeze 2.6 tutorial – untethered jailbreak for 4.3.2 on all iDevices besides ipad2
iPhone hacker @ih8sn0w has updated his popular jailbreak tool Sn0wbreeze 2.6 to include support for all iDevices running 4.3.2 firmware except for the iPad2. This will create a custom firmware file that you can restore in pwned DFU mode if you wish to preserve your baseband. Redsn0w 0.9.6rc14 is available now. This is an update to yesterday’s untethered jailbreak release that fixes issues with the iPhone4 and iPod Touch 4G. Soon after the announcement that @i0n1cs untether had been added to redsn0w 0.9.6rc13, we have received word from many users, and now confirmation from @musclenerd that rc13 is NOT working on iPhone4. I have also heard reports that the issue exists on the iPT 4G as well. For now, if you have either of those devices, stay away from rc13. A new patch should be released soon to address the issue although there is no timeframe.

*UPDATE 2* The dev-team has released a provisional update Redsn0w 0.9.6rc13b which fixes the jailbreaking issue with i4 and iPT4, however, this will produce a TETHERED jailbreak for those devices. TinyUmbrella 4.32.01 adds support for 4.3.2 and 4.2.7 SHSH saving
TinyUmbrella has been updated to 4.23.01 to add support for the saving of your 4.3.2 and 4.2.7 SHSHs. As always, we reccomend you save your SHSH keys as soon as a new firmware is released every time so that you always have the option of downgrading to an earlier firmware.
To save your SHSH via APPLE instead of CYDIA (the default) go into Advanced options and UNCHECK the box that clearly says: “Request SHSH From Cydia” then click ‘Apply Changes’ then select your device then click ‘Save SHSH’

Shortly after announcing that iOS 4.3.2 had been released yesterday, @comex announced that during his primary review of the new firmware he didn’t see that Apple had patched @i0n1c‘s untethered jailbreak exploit. Earlier this morning, i0n1c confirmed that the untether had not been patched and that he had his iPad1 running untethered on 4.3.2

Earlier last week, we announced that it had been leaked that Apple would be releasing 4.3.2 firmware within the following weeks. Today 4.3.2 was released for the GSM iPhone and 4.2.7 was released for the Verizon iPhone. Apple has been aggressively patching jailbreak exploits lately. Jailbreakers and Unlockers should steer clear of this update and as always make sure you back up your 4.3.1 SHSH as soon as possible as they will likely stop signing 4.3.1 within the next 24 hours or so.

GeoHot settles with Sony after accepting many donations
This morning, the highly publicized and anticipated case between Sony and GeoHot came to an abrupt end as GeoHot stunned the PS3/iPhone community by making a settlement with Sony. This coming after months of GeoHot talking up his lawyers and his plans to fight Sony to the death. The settlement has sent shockwaves through both the iPhone and PS3. Community as the majority of us, especially those who donated, thought that GeoHot was going to fight for our rights.

Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 out now fixes 4.3.1 unlocking issues
The dev-team has now released the Ultrasn0w update 1.2.1 which fixes the issues caused by 4.3.1 with unlocking. This update fixes the cosmetic signal bar issue and it also fixes issues with older basebands. To download the ultrasn0w update simply type in “Ultrasn0w” in the Cydia search tab. This update is only to fix 4.3.1 unlock issues, it does not add any compatibility for newer basebands. The current unlockable basebands can be seen below. Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 released fixes lingering issues with custom boot logos
Shortly after the dev team released Redsn0w 0.9.6rc10, to add custom bootlogos to their untethered jailbreak, they released a patch Redsn0w 0.9.6rc11. Even after that, it was apparent that there were issues getting custom boot logos to work using Redsn0w. The dev team has now released another patch Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 which is said to fix any lingering issues.
