IPSWDownloader now released for Windows

    A few days ago we told you about a Mac application called IPSWDownloader. One of our readers, Ryan Burke, decided to port the application for users. The version operates in the same fashion, just select your device and version and then hit download and then select where you would like the file to be saved.

    *UPDATE* The developers of IPSWDownloader from iBrain.com.ua have now released their Windows version of the software. Both applications do the same thing, however the iBrain version is a standalone application whereas Ryan's version is an installable application. You can download the official Windows version below:

        Thanks for the link egnaro, if you look at the post you’ll see that they just released it today, when Ryan contacted us with a link to his port of the software, there was not yet a Windows option available from the original developers which is why we posted this.

      The problem is that Ryan Burke uses the name “ipswDownloader” without the permission of the original authors, and so your article is misleading.

        The article is not misleading whatsoever. IPSW is an Apple trademarked file extension and the term “downloader” is generic. The original developers of IPSWDownloader do not own the rights to the name. Take it up with Ryan if you have an issue with it.
