How to run Greenpois0n RC5 on Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard
In our Greenpois0n RC5 tutorial I put under requirements that you need to have at least 10.5 (Leopard) to run Greenpois0n RC5. Many users have been reporting problems getting Greepois0n to open on 10.5 Luckily the guys over at cmdshift have posted a nice little writeup about how to get GP RC5 running on your Leopard installation:
It looks like it was libcurl.4.dylib that GreenPois0n is calling, and it looks like it’s calling version 6.0.0, but getting 5.0.0 and then closes out when this happens.
Here’s the solution if this is your issue:
1. Download this file: libcurl.4.dylib v6.0.0

App Review: Fake Operator [Cydia Store] How to change your carrier logo on 4.2.1
Rating:
So now after using our Greenpois0n RC5 tutorial, I have realized that I can no longer use “Make It Mine” to change the carrier logo on my iPhone as it is not supported beyond 4.1 Fortunately there is a solution. There is a similar application called Fake Operator which allows you to change your carrier logo from your iPhone settings instead of through an application the way MIM did.
First open Cydia and search for “Fake Operator” this is a package available from the default sources so no need to add a new source.
Now that you have …

@notcom creator of TinyUmbrella has added a tutorial on how to prevent your iPhone4s baseband from being upgraded when updating to 4.2.1 for those who rely on unlock. This tutorial is ONLY for iPhone4 and will NOT work on any other device. If you update to 4.2.1 you will lose the ability to unlock.
You will need a 4.2.1 iPhone4 firmware file from here
You can protect your iPhone 4 BB restoring to iOS 4.2.1. Follow these steps exactly:

MuscleNerd clears the air on some GP RC5 issues
So after I got done creating the Greenpois0n RC5 tutorial, it was apparent that there were some issues with the process(which is to be expected this soon after the release). First of all, many people have been wondering if they can just use GreenPois0n over the top of a tethered 4.2.1 jailbreak so they don’t have to restore. @MuscleNerd has confirmed that it is indeed safe to run GreenPois0n over the top of a tethered jailbreak to untether it. However, please do not use the “Loader” app afterwards as this will overwrite Cydia. You can just delete that …
