Make your iPhone look like a Windows Phone 7 with OS7 and Backboard

It's been a while since we've done a theme review so I thought I'd take a second to talk about a new theme from Wyndwarrior. This theme is called OS7 and the best part about it is that it doesn't require ANY additional Cydia packages in order to operate like most themes of this complexity do. All you need to do is download the Cydia package called "Backboard" which is an application created by the same person who created the OS7 theme. After that you download the theme(which is in beta right now, you can vote for how much you want the cost to be at the ModMyi forums).

After you've downloaded the theme you simply select the theme in Backboard and when your phone resprings it will look like you have a Windows Phone 7!

Installation:

Step 1: First go to Cydia and download the package called "Backboard" it is in a default repo. After you have installed Backboard and resprung your device make sure to open Backboard and click the "+" button to save your current layout!

Step 2: Open a safari window and enter the following in the URL field

backboard://http://bit.ly/os7link

Step 3: Now that OS7 is downloaded you should see an icon for it in Backboard, simply click the icon and select "install." Once your device resprings your iPhone will look just like Windows Phone 7!

Please note that this theme is still in beta right now which is why it is free for download. When it is ready to be released to the public it will cost a price and for a change the author has decided to let you, the user, decide the price. Head on over to the official thread at ModMyi to let your voice be heard!

how to remove this from iPhone 3G

First of all, open Backboard and revert to your original theme.

Next, open Cydia, click on Search, type in BackBoard. Click on Modify in the top corner and then click Uninstall.

I thought I wld give this a try on an ipt 3G it works great the only problem that I found was that when you hit music it goes to your videos and couldn’t find a way to get to it so I reverted back to my normal setup.
