This is a quick tutorial on how to install Groovy on to your Apple TV 2G - we will have a video tutorial on how to install this application coming soon.

Install Instructions (without NitoTV)

Step 1: Jailbreak your Apple TV 2G per instructions here.

Step 2: On your mac, open terminal and type the follow (please replace the IP address of YOUR Apple TV, this can be found by going to Settings - General - Network on the Apple TV:

ssh root@YOURIPADDRESS

Then enter your password - The default password is “alpine”.

Step 3: Change your password (if you haven’t already)! Type:

passwd

Step 4: To install Groovy and restart Lowtide, type:

echo "deb http://apt.weasel-project.com ./" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/weasel.list
apt-get update
apt-get install com.atv.groovy
killall Lowtide

Step 5: Ready to use

echo "deb http://apt.weasel-project.com ./" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/weasel.list
apt-get update

Step 5: Go to NitoTV on your Apple TV -> Install Software -> Search for Packages

Step 6: Search for 'Groove', install and have fun!
